Crusoe’s Retreat is located on the Coral Coast, far away from the hustle and bustle, but close enough to the exciting adventures and excursions that make this such a special place. Located amongst lush tropical gardens, fronting a palm-fringed sandy beach, Crusoe’s is a world away from some of the large hotels. We are located directly next door to a traditional Fijian village, and our guests are encouraged to visit with our local village friends and families, allowing them some insight into daily life in Fiji. Our guests can also enjoy easy and convenient access to some great adventures, including white water rafting, jet skiing, rainforest ziplines, etc, but at the end of the day, they can still return to a relaxed, casual atmosphere.

Can you give us a quick/brief history of Crusoe’s Retreat Resort?

Crusoe’s Retreat is one of the longest serving resorts in Fiji. For many years, we have been welcoming guests to our sandy shores, providing them with a culturally-rich experience. Most of our staff is from our neighboring village, and our guests have always been welcome to spend time with our friendly neighbours.

What are the priorities of Crusoe’s Retreat Resort towards your customers/guest?

Our priority at Crusoe’s Retreat is to provide a relaxing beach holiday, while giving our guests the opportunity to experience the true Fiji. Nothing is forced at Crusoe’s Retreat. Guests are allowed to go at their own pace. We cater to a wide range of guests, including couples, honeymooners, wedding parties, families, etc. As such, we have so much to offer everyone.

Describe a typical vacation day for your guests at Crusoe’s Retreat Resort?

As they wake to another beautiful sunny day in Fiji, guests at Crusoe’s Retreat are welcomed into our restaurant deck, with amazing views of the resort gardens, sandy beach, and beautiful lagoon beyond. Grab a coffee or tea, and select from some of the items from our tropical buffet breakfast. Once seated and relaxed, place an order for a full cooked breakfast. All of our room rates include free full cooked breakfast daily. After breakfast, we suggest you walk over to our lounge area, where a board posts all of the activities, excursions, and events for the day. Several cultural activities are offered every day, from weaving, learn to cook Fijian, Fijian storytelling, how to husk a coconut, etc.
We also offer several off-resort excursions every day, where guests can pay a nominal amount to visit neighboring Pacific Harbour, or head into Suva for the day to go shopping. Throughout the day, guests can enjoy a full array of complimentary resort activities including sea kayaking, snorkelling, tennis, guided bush hikes, and so much more. Or, simply relax on our expansive pool deck. Lunch is a treat, as you can again enjoy the amazing views from our restaurant deck. Be sure to join in the ‘guests vs. Staff’ beach volleyball match in the afternoon. In the late afternoon, grab your favourite cocktail and head to the beach to witness for yourself an amazing Fijian sunset.

Listen carefully for the beating of the Lali drum, which will announce our very popular Happy Hour. Head over to our thatched roof Coco Pool Bar, where you can enjoy a cocktail. At dinner, you will enjoy from a changing a la carte menu, or one of our popular buffet them nights, including a traditional Fijian Lovo night once per week. Crusoe’s Retreat has all of the services and facilities of a large resort, but in a small, boutique resort. All of our Fijian-inspired Bures have amazing views of the tropical gardens, palm-fringed beach, and beautiful lagoon. A stay in our Bures truly feels like you are staying in Fiji. All of our bures have private verandas with great views, spacious bures with sitting area, bedroom area, private bathroom, and the amenities you would expect from a resort (ceiling fan, mini-fridge, coffee/tea making facilities, in-room safe, hairdryer, and some bures feature air-conditioning).

Crusoe’s is a full service resort, with a restaurant, two bars, a water activities centre and a land activities centre, a tour desk, reception, guest internet access, swimming pool with expansive deck, sandy beach, and a friendly neighboring traditional Fijian village. Many complimentary resort activities are included in our nightly rates including sea kayaking, snorkelling, tennis, beach volleyball, daily Fijian cultural activities, guided bush hikes, and so much more. Crusoe’s also features an on-site PADI dive centre, with full dive instruction available, and many local dive sites that only we visit.
