The park includes a full-day hike to Mt. Koroyanitu and the remains of a fortified village. You may hike for 2 hours to the terraced gardens at Tunutunu and the Navuratu village site. An hour climb will take you to the summit of Castle Rock with the panoramic views of the Mamanucas and Yasawas. And a 2-day hike will let you experience the highland villages’ ends at Mt. Batilamu with amazing views of Nadi Bay.
The Naiserelagi Catholic Mission has founded The Church of the Black Christ. It is 25 kilometers east of Rakiraki at Naiserelagi. The church was built in 1917 and is famous for a mural illustrating a black Christ by the making of the French artist Jean Charlot in 1962.
The Nananu-i-ra island offers visitors a myriad of outdoor pursuits especially those associated with crystal clear tropical waters, swimming, diving, snorkeling, and windsurfing or kite surfing. World class diving spots can be found at the Vatu-i-ra passage and the Bligh Waters. You can also participate in other activities like nature and rainforest treks, cultural treks, fishin, and ocean kayaking.
The Nausori Highlands shows off scenic landscapes and remote villages with many interesting traditional beliefs and culture. The Navala Village is Fiji’s most scenic inland village that is nestled on a sloping site on the banks of the Ba River. Most villagers prefer building homes of concrete blocks and corrugated iron construction because of its sturdiness, but all the houses in Navala are traditional bure. Local buses go from Ba to Navala daily.
